Sowing instructions

 

  • Sow sparingly indoors from 8 weeks before the last frost date.
  • Barely cover the seeds.
  • Plant out when large enough to handle 6in between plants in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil.
  • Leaves can be harvested for fresh use throughout the summer, but the flavor is best just before flowering.
  • To dry, cut the stems just as the flowers start to open and hang in small bunches.
  • Harvest sparingly the first year.
